MAKER’S CALL

MAKER’S CALL

Since your passing,
I have only viewed your pictures in passing.
For I cannot look on a minute long,
seeing how many beautiful memories linger on.
I have resisted the urge to believe.
As it stands,
You are not present to shake off the disbelief.

Call out my name once more,
with affection and joy.
Call out my name once more,
with high expectations up strong.
Call out my name once more,
with arms akimbo and infectious laughter.
Call out my name once more,
from a distance and out of them all.

You look too alife to be named deceased.
Call out my name once more,
and that status will be withdrawn.

It is with love I write,
because it is all you are remembered for.
Should I weep,
it is only sharing in the pain of my loss.
Should I rejoice,
it is sharing in the gain of the cross.
For time is but an asset,
of which we do not have it all.

How pleased you would have been,
To have read emotions put on paper,
Drawn from awesome memories you unleash,
from our very encounter.
Too bad these words could only be read to you,
Though they will always be meant for you.

Who am I to plead your life,
When your absence from us,
Is your presence with God?

In due time,
Shall we respond to the Maker’s call.

Remembered this day,
Many days onwards.

Dedicated to Lady Pastor Isabella Baalu.
